About aquariums

Aquariums are now more varied in size, shape, materials and design than ever in the past. Yet the fundamentals for
a successful aquarium will never change. Keeping tropical marine or freshwater fish as well as invertebrates, mollusks and crustaceans is an art not a hobby.

It is work not leisure. The investment of time and money is significant. The knowledge requirements are insurmountable. Books often provide contradictory, conflicting and misleading information – most opinions are based on a snapshot of the authors experience rather than scientific facts.

Yet like a steep mountain – once reached the pinnacle of success is breath taking – though often short lived. The cliff is minutes, hours, weeks, months or years away – but there is inevitably a cliff that the aquarist will fall off of – still – until then, enjoy!
